Topeka

Here are some recommended things to do and places to visit while in Topeka, as well as places to stay. This section is under development. This is neither a comprehensive listing nor is it intended to be. These are Sanguinarius's recommendations, and Sanguinarius reserves the right to make changes, additions, and exclusions at her discretion. If you would like more information on these, please contact that individual merchant. These are not advertisements, only listings to give you an idea what is available in Topeka. There is more to do (not listed here) in nearby Lawrence, KS, and if you want to drive a little further, in Kansas City, (KS and MO).

Well, well, well... It appears that Topeka, KS isn't quite the podunk town it seems, after all. I suppose this is as it should be because Topeka is the capitol city of Kansas (believe it or not). There are also other events and activities which I've not listed here. Contact the Visitors Bureau for more info.

Located on the Oregon Trail, Ward-Meade Park is a 6-acre site with botanical gardens. Cemeteries

Oooo, I can't forget to include some of the local Topeka cemeteries worth visiting. Please be patient, as I am working on getting the information on these cemeteries. Don't try sneaking in after dark, and don't even think of vandalizing them -- if I catch somebody vandalizing a cemetery in any way, I will eat that person's/people's young, and not leave THEM in too good a condition, either. Their graves are the only thing that the Dead have left -- respect them.

Topeka Cemetery (very nice, has some crypts & mausoleums)

Rochester Cemetery (atmospheric, Albino Lady, don't try sneaking in, they watch)

Mount Hope Cemetery (very nice, large, old and new sections, has a tower)

The one on Gage, with the duck pond / park

what's the cute, little one Carl & I used to go to?
